The piggery is a division of ALZU ENTERPRISES (Pty) Ltd and is located at the farm Kwaggafontein, between Middelburg and Hendrina. It comprises a large area of farrowing and growing houses, and other required service facilities.

Technical Side
We are constantly in touch with our markets and changing consumer preferences.
The technical side of the piggery is run as follows:
We run a 600 sow unit
We are on a 3 week system
Our growers are grown according to a "all-in-all-out" system.
We made use of A.I (artificial insemination) and our genetic supply is Topigs.

Marketing
ALZU PIGGERY is proudly associated with Pick and Pay Supermarket Group and other leading butcheries which requires that strict production, handling and quality protocols are maintained. These are regularly monitored through our association with the Charles Street Veterinary Group Quality Assurance Programme. Their objectives are to ensure that pigs, supplied by approved suppliers, are in good health and free of antimicrobial drugs as well as added hormones. Furthermore, that the pigs are produced under good, hygienic farming practices which are human-, animal and environmentally friendly.
